R32 Skyline Spoiler Removal

Figured i'd make a quick write up on how to do this as many people seem to not know how to and want to to a wing removal. I've personally wanted to do this a long time and have wanted a change for a while and figured I'd give er a shot.

1st step - On mine, it has 3 14mm nuts on the trunk lid inside holding the spoiler on, not sure if all skylines have 3 nuts but it`ll still be pretty much the same.

2nd step - Disconnect the plugs connecting the third brake light and anything else there may be so when you pull it off it doesn't break or get caught up on something.

3rd step - I got some 10lb fishing line / twine from Canadian Tire for like $2. I took a piece and started trying to wedge it under the spoiler to trunk gasket and slowly worked it under it trying to pry them apart, mine also had some super strong double sided tape, did this for both far sides.

4th step - Pretty much as this point i could somewhat pry the sides up. I then used a lot of force to try to rip this thing off.

5th step - It was super gross and dirty from all these years so i just took some cleaner to wipe it down and clean up the areas and get the rest of the 3M and rubber gasket off, gave er a quick hand polish to make it match better and bam, kinda sorta like new.. (pictures from a couple days later)

6th and final step - I just had some bumper quick releases that i used to cover three of the holes with, couldn't get my hand in for the fourth one and the last one was too large from the retainer clip so i'll  need to find something for that later this week, not something i'm worried about.

And then that's how she sits.

And gets to sit on top of my tv stand for the time being
